With training camp only about a week away (where are those draft pick signings Phil?), the Browns already received their first negative vibe of the season: the cancellation of Family Night at Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3. At least it wasn't related to a player injury, right?

An 8-inch water pipe broke Saturday night at the stadium, which just so happens to be the main supply of water to the entire stadium. The stadium suffered damage in various areas of the stadium, including some of the locker room areas, from over 50,000 gallons of water being spewed. There was some speculation regarding the extent of the break in this morning's Plain Dealer:

The City of Cleveland officials are still investigating the cause of the break, but there is a lot of cleaning up to do in a short period of time. The primary goal is to have the stadium ready by August 11, the team's first home preseason against the Kansas City Chiefs.

PETER KING RANKS US LAST: In other news, SI's Peter King has ranked the Browns dead last in his preseason power rankings. I know some people hate King's input, but I've always been a big supporter of his work. That doesn't mean I agree with it necessarily, but I enjoy dissecting his opinions. Here is his exact quote on the Browns:

32. Cleveland: The Browns are beginning to draft their way out of the abyss. But it's a pretty deep abyss.

Obviously, this would mean that we've drafted core players - QB Brady Quinn, TE Kellen Winslow, OL Joe Thomas, and LB Kamerion Wimbley. Unfortunately, it means that the rest of our team is absolute crap (with the exception of a guy like Eric Steinbach). At the end of the season, for all we know, King could be right on the money. However, my slightly optimistic viewpoint is calling for a more positive outlook.

And, there's no way that the Raiders should be ranked above anyone until they show the slightest ounce of spark offensively.
