The above list contains 53 players that were kept, and 29 players that were cut. I placed six people (represented by a "*") on the practice squad. Here is a list of people that did not appear on the roster due to injuries (note: some of these are also injury projections. i.e., DeMario Minter is not on the PUP right now.)

Injured Reserve:
Matt Stewart
Jerome Jackson

Physically Unable to Perform List:
LeCharles Bentley
Willie McGinest
DeMario Minter

NFL Suspended List:
Ryan Tucker

One more note: Almost every time I make my first list, I count how many names are on my roster and find out that I had too many people. When I counted my original list to myself, I had 56 people making the team. My final three roster moves were cutting Rob Smith, Chase Pittman, and Mike Adams. All three moves could change in next week's edition if there are further updates on the health of Eric Steinbach, Orpheus Roye, and Gary Baxter. If you have any comments or suggestions on this list, please let me know.

Re: Final Roster Projection 2007 - 1st Edition
Yeah, I much would've rather have cut Dorsey than Smith, but it came down to a numbers game. Ideally, the Browns would need two backup guards and two backup tackles. If I had cut Dorsey and kept Smith, there would have been three backup guards and only one backup tackle.

My plan would be that when Ryan Tucker comes back, Dorsey would be waived from the roster.

Re: Final Roster Projection 2007 - 1st Edition
I don't see Perry getting cut, he was decent last year when he was needed.  Meanwhile, I don't see Jason Short making the team.  Also, I'd like to find a way to keep Ken Dorsey and trade whichever QB loses the starting job.  Dorsey has an excellent grasp of the offense and can really help in mentoring Quinn.

After watching the first game, I think I'd have to agree with you on Jason Short getting cut. Not that he did anything wrong, but I was looking to see who would get more opportunities: Short or Kris Griffin. It's Griffin, and that change will probably be made next week.

I'm still hoping Niklos sticks around. There's something about his determination I've always admired.

Re: Final Roster Projection 2007 - 1st Edition
None of the fullbacks seemed to really stand out yesterday, even Vickers. When I review the tape today, that's one of the things I'll be paying close attention to in terms of who blocked the best.

Re: Final Roster Projection 2007 - 1st Edition
Now that I'm looking at this again, I'd keep Dinkins and lose Steptoe.  Chud's offense will focus more on the TEs from what I've read, and Dinkins is a fine blocker and special teams player.

Re: Final Roster Projection 2007 - 1st Edition
Steptoe didn't impress me as I thought he would; he looks more like practice squad material.

Dinkins is probably the best blocker of the three tight ends after Heiden, but not as good of a receiver. However, the third tight end if expected to block typically, especially if the first two specialize at pass protection. I still like Krause, so I'll have to review his blocking from last night's game, as I don't think the team would keep four tight ends.

If Tim Carter's injuries holds up (he should be fine), I think we'll see a guy like Kendrick Mosley step up and take his spot on the roster.

Re: Final Roster Projection 2007 - 1st Edition
if dinkins is a good blocker just make him a tackle or a guard type player because he CANT catch. i think we should use him like the falcons use eric beverly

Re: Final Roster Projection 2007 - 1st Edition
I forgot to mention that Dinkins is supposed to be a solid special teams player as well; that's one of the reasons Crennel brought him in last year.

Re: Final Roster Projection 2007 - 1st Edition
I'd think Mike Adams would make it before Perry if Baxter wasn't available.
