Browns vs. Bears - Official Gameday Thread

Game: Cleveland Browns (2-1) vs. Chicago Bears (3-0)
Where: Soldier Field (Chicago, IL)
When: 8:00 PM EST (Browns Pre-game for Cleveland viewers is at 7:30 PM)

This is the team's final preseason game, and ultimately the least important game of the year. Some people will go by the philosophy that this is the last chance for players to impress the coaching staff, but let's be honest - if the fourth preseason game is the determining factor for a number of players on an NFL team, then something's wrong. Charlie Frye hasn't been named the official starter for Week 1, but he'll start against the Bears and should have the job locked up.

An interesting note from Romeo Crennel earlier in the week - he stated that he would not take the starters out until they did something good. What he defines as "good" remains to be seen, so we'll have to see during the game tonight. I wish I could've gotten a little bit of a better preview out, but due to time constraints, this is all I can provide you with. I guarantee my coverage will be back up to par for the regular season.

This is the official gameday topic for the final preseason game of the year, featuring the Cleveland Browns against the Chicago Bears. All comments regarding the game should be posted in this topic. Last, but not least, GO BROWNS!!!

Re: Browns vs. Bears - Official Gameday Thread
Not as a whole through the preseason, but we pretty much owned the Bears offense all game long, including against the run. I consider it a tiny step forward, but not much because...

a. It was the final and most meaningless preseason game.
b. I expected the Bears ground game to be much poorer this year than last year.

I'll have my review for the game online either late tonight or tomorrow morning.

Re: Browns vs. Bears - Official Gameday Thread
yeah the run defense dont look promising esp since they play a pit team that will be pumped over a new HC who rushed for 303 yds on NFLN LY....this could be bad...

1 PM press conference by Savage announcing the cuts this afternoon.  I'd assume it will be broadcast somewhere (STO or WTAM would be my guess...).
