Cowher Buys House in Cleveland?
Link: COWHER RUMORS FLY IN CLEVELANDApparently, plenty of folks in Cleveland have heard that former Steelers coach Bill Cowher has bought a home in Strongsville, Ohio.
...
So we’d be very surprised to learn that Cowher actually has purchased a house in the Cleveland area or that, if so, he has done it because he plans on coaching the Browns. Even if Lerner had entered into a wink-nod arrangement with Cowher, it would be beyond stupid for Cowher to buy a house in Cleveland months before the plan can unfold.

Injuries Injuries Injuries
It has been a rough road thus far for Browns fans with two tough matchups and two tough losses.
With the depleted defensive unit full of its injuries we now have to worry about the O-line. Hadnot is back but Steinbach hasn't practiced for a few days and may not be able to go at Baltimore.
Against that defense this is a nightmare! Our right side has already been taken advantage of this season as our strong point is that left side. Tucker may get the nod over at LG which could work out but the chemistry that Eric and Joe have established is going to be sorely missed with each week Steinbach misses.
I want a win, but against this Ravens team with a rookie qb, I want a big win. How nice would it be to quiet all the nay-sayers and the Bengal fans by throwing up a 21-0 creaming of a hated rival.
If Romeo wants to salvage anything at this point I hope he gets the team revved up.

The problem is at Linebacker.!
I have said it all year - Stop complaining about the youth in the secondary and start worrying about our Linebackers.
Kamerion "I have one move" Wimbley has digressed each year in the league and is pathetically predictable. The sad part is that he is our best LB.
I truely beleive the 3-4 is killing our defense. To fully take advantage of the the plethora of 3-4 schemes and blitz packages available the whole unit has to be stellar. We are far from stellar.
A standard 4-3 defense is what this unit needs.
Granted, Dallas is a 13-3 team with a great offense but that is no excuse. Until Romo busted up his chin I doubt he had even broken a sweat out there......
Overall grades:
Offense C
Defense C
Linebackers F
PS - Why are we kicking FG's when we are down by 3 scores in the 4th quarter?
Romeo was trying to hurry the game up and get out to the hot dog cart before it closed..

CRIBBS TO HOLD OUT??
Rumors are flying that Joshua wants a new deal....
With Bears return specialist, and possible No. 1 wideout, Devin Hester cashing in, another high-profile return specialist wants a new deal, too.
According to James Walker of ESPN.com, Josh Cribbs of the Browns is looking to restructure a six-year, $6 million deal that he signed before the 2007 season.
Keep an eye on this one. As we hear it, there are rumblings that Cribbs might be planning to boycott practice unless and until he gets what he wants. (He has been “injured” of late with a hamstring pull, so perhaps the boycotting already has begun.)
Per NFLPA records, Cribbs is due to earn a base salary of $620,000 in 2008, $620,000 in 2009, $635,000 in 2010, $650,000 in 2011, and $790,000 in 2012.
Cribbs joined the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2006.

Joe Thomas
Joe Thomas making the Pro Bowl was a pretty special feat, when thinking about all the years and years of failures we have witnessed on the Browns OL.
And to top it off, it was a rookie.
Has that ever been done before? A rookie LT making the ProBowl? I am sure it has but does anyone have these stats?
Each year we hear how special a player is IF they can play the LT spot well to protect the QB's blindspot. I am trying to prove a point to a BUCKING FANGLES fan who keeps telling me that Levi Jones is a better Tackle than Joe Thomas..............
GOD I HATE THE BENGALS.

Tony Grossi
Is it just me or is Tony Grossi a complete moron??
He is supposed to be our front line representative for information concerning the Cleveland Browns and more often than not I am disappointed when I read his drivle.
His most recent ASK TONY was quite comical has he ranked the Top 5 NFL fans. Included in his top 5 was Buffalo.........
Are you kidding me? I am not 100% sure but haven' t they gone almost a decade without a selling out a game??
Maybe when they are winning they are good but come on!!! The Buffalo fans are not loyal in the least. They remind me quite a bit of the Bungles fans!!!
Just thought I would vent a little and maybe get someone's advice as to where I can start getting my Browns information from now on.......

Baxter and Bentley
I think the Browns have been overly generous to thier two injured reserve captains over the past few years and so I am curious what cap hit the Browns would incur if these two were sent packing?
Even though Brodney Pool is terrible, there is no way Baxter unseats him at Safety.
And with the recent play of the OL along with some fabulous signings by Phil (Hadnot) our OL is set for 2008.
Losing Tucker until August is a blow but dare I say it - We finally have depth and good depth!!! within our OL !!!!
So why hang onto these guys?
