Savage gets ripped by Yahoo Sports
Unless you are young, self-employed or incredibly blessed, you’ve probably had a boss like Browns general manager Phil Savage.
You know, a guy who cares only about his own hide, perpetually blames organizational underperformance on his employees and acts like everything he does is above reproach.
Oh, and in this case, a GM who goes on the radio the day before Thanksgiving to undercut the head coach he hired in 2005 and signed to a two-year extension last January.
In other words: A real horse’s ass.

Podcast feat. Brantley and his agent
Our buddy, the Diatriber, and Tony Lastoria host a podcast featuring Michael Brantley and his agent, Josh Kusnick. It's very long, but they do a nice job interviewing and then also taking on-air calls.
Bryson Undergoing Labrum Surgery
Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere. If it has, please delete. Although Bryson pitched in August, he felt sore after his appearance and will undergo labrum surgery. He is expected to be out 6-9 months.
This is not good. The recovery rate on labrum surgery is far lower than other operations that pitchers have.

SI Preview Issue
SI has the Tribe as the seventh best team in baseball and the favorite to win the AL Central. While I normally don't put a lot into preseason rankings (see last season), I just wanted to note for everyone the SI top 5. 1. NY Yankees 2. LA Angels 3. Boston Red Sox 4. LA Dodgers 5. NY Mets. I know the media loves the big markets, but this to me seems a little ridiculous.
The Tribe feature spoke mainly about Peralta's eye condition. They also have a sidebar which asks fans to vote on their favorite Indians blog with LGT being one of the selections. Overall, it appears the Tribe will go into another season with big expectations from most media sources even after disappointing last year.
