Ravens Re-Sign Scott; Browns Free Agents

Here are some more quick tidbits that continue to come in:

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports Cleveland Browns DT Ted Washington will sign a two-year, $7 million contract to join the team.

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports the Baltimore Ravens have re-signed free agent LB Bart Scott (Ravens) to a three-year contract. Scott will receive a total deal worth $13.5 million, including a $6.5 million signing bonus. He is scheduled to earn $1 million this season, $2.6 million in 2007 and $3.4 million in 2008.

I like the signing of Washington. Signing him for only two years makes sense, since he will probably retire or be too old by then. Also, two years gives us time to develop or find our nose tackle of the future. I heard a rumor that we offered Scott more money for a longer amount of time, but I guess he really liked Baltimore.

Also, two of our former players are visiting other teams at the moment:

Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports free agent WR Antonio Bryant (Browns) is in San Francisco visiting with the San Francisco 49ers. ESPN.com's John Clayton adds the two sides are trying to reach a contract agreement.

Agent Bob Lattinville has confirmed to KFFL the Green Bay Packers will host free-agent LB Ben Taylor (Browns) Monday, March 20.

It's not like we'll really miss either of them anyway...and one last note, rumors are that if we do trade Jeff Faine, it could be to the Philadelphia Eagles...
