-Phil Savage, Browns general manager
That statement was certainly true for the Browns, as well as thirty other teams in the NFL when it came to the supplemental draft. The lone player taken - as expected - was linebacker Ahmad Brooks. Guess what Browns fans? We'll be seeing him twice a year in a Bengals uniform. Ironically, right around the time they selected Brooks, it was announced that last year's rookie linebacker Odell Thurman would be suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Sounds like an adequate replacement. By the way, the Bengals sacrificed a third round draft pick in the 2007 draft to acquire Brooks.
Besides that, there wasn't any news regarding the Browns today. Sports Illustrated has a nice article on one of the league's most respected receivers, Joe Jurevicius. You have to be a member to see it, but even for general browsers, there is a nice picture of him on the page.
I can sense it...very soon, you'll see the Browns sign their first draft pick already. Just a random guess - Leon Williams will be the first pick to sign.
