It didn't take long for the Browns to fill the roster void left by Gary Baxter as the team signed veteran defensive back Nick Sorensen to a deal. Sorensen has played in 75 career NFL games for the St. Louis Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars, but there's not much to get excited about defensively. Sorensen has primarily been a special teams player, where he has recorded 81 tackles.
I don't believe this means that signing defensive tackle Grady Jackson, as I suggested earlier today, is out of the question. Negotiations with Jackson would probably take at least a day or two, at which point the team could waive someone like Louis Leonard if need be.
