Signing Lewis would probably spell the end for current running back Reuben Droughns, who is due for a $1.75 million bonus next week if the Browns do not cut him by then. The biggest question in signing Lewis would be whether or not the team would still have an interest in running back Adrian Peterson. I would still advocate the selection of Joe Thomas if he is on the board at No. 3, however.
In other free agent news, Titans defensive end Robaire Smith, a person that I had on my "want" list for free agency (scroll below a few posts), is negotiating a possible contract with the team, according to various sources. Supposedly, the Browns and Smith's agent, Michael Harrison, hope to keep in touch over the next few days. The Browns are still discussing a possible deal with cornerback Rod Hood, who would certainly be a much better pickup than Kenny Wright was.
