The Cleveland Browns will take the field tomorrow for the team's annual Brown vs. White scrimmage, where the action is treated like a real football game minus the tackling. The Brown team will have the first-team offense and the second-team defense, while the white team will have the second-team offense and the first-team defense. This allows the level of competitiveness to be a little more equal when each team takes the field.

Day 7 of training camp saw the team continue to prepare for Saturday's scrimmage at 1:00 p.m. Let's get to the recap...

TRAINING CAMP REPORT - DAY 7 (8/6/10)

  1. Scrimmage Preview: To prepare for Saturday, the coaches had the Brown team face the White team during practice on Friday. Then, on Friday night, each side was scheduled to go and watch video on the opposing "team," just like they would if they were preparing for a real team.

  2. Lack of Words: Most of the recaps around the Internet focused on declaring who was on the Brown and White teams, rather than discussing what happened during practice. Another reason for that might have been because practice ended about 30 minutes early, according to Dawg Scooper. Anyway, it's important to know who is on which team since it gives an indication of the team's "true" depth chart right now. Here's a look:

  3. Brown Offense (aka First-Team):
    QB: Jake Delhomme, Brett Ratliff
    RB: Jerome Harrison, James Davis
    FB: Lawrence Vickers
WR: Mohamed Massaquoi, Brian Robiskie, Chansi Stuckey, Carlton Mitchell, Johnathan Haggerty
    TE: Ben Watson, Robert Royal
    LT: Joe Thomas
    LG: Eric Steinbach
    C: Alex Mack
    RG: Floyd Womack
    RT: John St. Clair

  4. White Offense (aka Second-Team):
    QB: Seneca Wallace, Colt McCoy
    RB: Chris Jennings
    FB: (probably A. Smith)
WR: Joshua Cribbs, Bobby Engram, Syndric Steptoe
    TE: Evan Moore, Alex Smith
    LT: Scott Kooistra
    LG: Casey Bender
    C: Billy Yates
    RG: Shawn Lauvao
    RT: Tony Pashos

  5. White Defense (aka First-Team):
    DE: Robaire Smith
    DT: Ahtyba Rubin
    DE: Derreck Robinson, Brian Sanford
    OLB: Scott Fujita
    ILB: Chris Gocong
    ILB: D'Qwell Jackson
    OLB: Matt Roth
    CB: Eric Wright
    S: Abram Elam, Larry Asante
    S: T.J. Ward
    CB: Sheldon Brown

  6. Brown Defense (aka Second-Team):
    DE: Titus Adams
    DT: Kwaku Danso
    DE: Clifton Geathers
    OLB: David Bowens
    ILB: Eric Barton
    ILB: Kaluka Maiava
    OLB: Jason Trusnik
    CB: Joe Haden, DeAngelo Smith
    S: Ray Ventrone
    S: Nick Sorensen
    CB: Brandon McDonald

  7. Roster Comments: I'm not sure where safety Mike Adams is on the list, as no one mentioned him. Also, Kenyon Coleman wasn't practicing, and was replaced by a combination of Derreck Robinson and Brian Sanford on the first team. Out of all the positions, the right side of the offensive line stands out: as of now, it looks like Floyd Womack and John St. Clair will play with the first team. K Phil Dawson will play for both teams.

  8. No Picks for Delhomme: The veteran quarterback didn't have a repeat performance of Thursday, as Jake Delhomme did not throw an interception during Friday's practice. He reportedly came close to throwing one to Eric Wright, but the pass fell incomplete since Chansi Stuckey was wrestling for the ball too. Wright seems to be making a lot of plays on the football this camp, at least when he's facing Delhomme.

Delhomme connected on touchdown passes to Mohamed Massaquoi and Brian Robiskie.

  9. McDonald Makes Plays: Cornerback Brandon McDonald might just find his way back on my next 53-man roster posting. He jumped high in the air to intercept a pass intended for Joshua Cribbs down the sideline. He's making the most out of his demoted role.

  10. Rule Discussions: A few NFL officials were at practice to describe some of the rule changes to the team. They'll also be at the scrimmage tomorrow to officiate the game.

  11. Still Not Practicing: Punter Dave Zastudil was back on the field, but he still did not practice. Additional surgery is still an option according to reports, but Zastudil hopes it doesn't come down to that. Reggie Hodges should assume the punting duties Saturday.

  12. Practice Video: Dawg Scooper shot some more practice footage during their Friday afternoon trip. Click here to check it out.

One more tidbit before I conclude today's recap, and it comes via CBS Sports' Rapid Reports via a quote by backup quarterback Seneca Wallace:

Seneca Wallace on teaming with Josh Cribbs in the Wildcat: "It's going to be tough for defenses to scheme. We can both throw, run and catch, and that's a dangerous combination. It's going to be frustrating for defensive coordinators."
