Senior Bowl: A Few Players the Browns Scouted

According to our Jacksonville Jaguars affiliate, who has people in attendance at the Senior Bowl practices, here is a list of some of the players that the Cleveland Browns have shown interest in:

  • RB Roy Helu Jr, Nebraska (projected round 4-5)
  • OT Jason Pinkston, Pittsburgh (projected round 2)
  • DT Sione Fua, Stanford (projected round 3-4)
  • OLB Mason Foster, Washington (projected round 3)
  • K Alex Henery, Nebraska (projected round 5-6)

Henery is the top rated kicker of this year's draft class. With rumors circulating that Phil Dawson might have played his final game with the Browns, it isn't a surprise to hear that Cleveland is checking out Henery.

Over the next couple of weeks, there will probably be a lot of players reported on that the Browns "scouted" or "talked to." In order to keep track of all of the players and where and how often the Browns showed interest in them, I'll form a table that will be posted one or two times per week, depending on the number of updates that come in.

Speaking of the Senior Bowl, Maria Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal suggests that this will be a good time for head coach Pat Shurmur to try to recruit some assistant coaches for his staff.
