Oh, boy. This is the pick we've been waiting for! Did golanbatrac go along with the norm? With the sixth pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Cleveland Browns select...

Cameron Jordan, DE, California

This selection and write-up was made by golanbatrac:

Since expansion the Browns have been ranked 31st, 29th, 29th, 27th, 23rd, 32nd, 30th, 29th, 27th, 28th, 28th, and 27th in the league in rushing yards allowed. They've given up 27,410 yards on the ground over the last 12 years (that's 10,197 more yards than the Steelers have allowed -- 850 more yards per season; 53 more yards per game). The Browns' defense has been run at, run over and run through for far too long. Drafting Cameron Jordan will go a long way toward righting the Browns rush defense.

Cameron Jordan is an A+ tackler with enough speed and strength to get up field on a consistent basis and get to the quarterback. He will instantly improve both the Browns pass rush *and* rush defense (something which can't be said of the flashier Ends in this draft). He's smart and will understand his role in the defense and thrive. He will man the strong side for the Browns for a decade.

Cameron Jordan is the most complete Defensive End in the draft, and as such, the best player available to the Browns.

This pick won't be a surprise to some of you who already saw golanbatrac fall in love with Jordan in another mock draft. This is definitely a unique pick for the Browns compared to all of the other mock drafts, but it is also the type of pick that could end up being the most "realistic" in the sense that general managers are not going to base their pick off the "consensus of the public."

If golan's high praise for Jordan turns out, then it would have to be a great pick. I'm not interested in a defensive tackle with the first pick, narrowing things down to wide receiver, defensive end, and cornerback. The question I would have for golan is if he would have picked Green or Peterson if they had been available still. Jordan had a great Senior Bowl and could improve his draft stock further with an impressive showing at the NFL Combine tomorrow.

The San Francisco 49ers are on the clock next (email has been sent to rufio).
