The answer, unfortunately, is "No."
It was announced today that Detroit Lions nose tackle Ndamukong Suh was named the Pepsi Rookie of the Year. This marks the first time in the nine-year history of the award that a defensive player has won the award, which has to irk fans of St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford a little.
Besides Suh and Bradford, the other three nominees for the award were New England Patriots cornerback Devin McCourtey, Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams.
While I'm not surprised that Haden did not receive the award, I thought Bradford would receive it over Suh. The Associated Press should announce their rookie awards tomorrow, which are considered more "official." The AP awards are broken down by offense and defense, so both Bradford and Suh might have a chance to celebrate after all.
