Could the Cleveland Browns be coveting cornerback Buster Skrine when the draft rolls around? According to the National Football Post, the Browns were one of 14 teams at his Pro Day at University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Cleveland is also scheduled to have a meeting and private workout with Skrine, who ran an unofficial 4.29 at the scouting combine.
Skrine is expected to be a mid- to late-round pick, but he seems to be slowly creeping up people's draft boards. His college head coach believes in the talent Skrine has, not just his speed:
"It's not just the speed. He has great hips and feet. He tested off the charts. He represented himself well at the combine. We've been told he handled himself in individual meetings. The teams were very impressed."
The downside could be his size. Skrine is only 5-9 and weighs 186 pounds. Would you be interested in Skrine with a mid-round pick, or he is not worth it given his size and the fact that he might be "just" speed?
