Speed will earn you a great deal of respect at times, especially when you have the third-fastest 40-time for the NFL Combine since 2000. According to Pro Football Talk, the Cleveland Browns will hold a private workout with DeMarcus Van Dyke in mid-March after the Miami cornerback posted an official 4.28 at the combine.
At the Combine, Van Dyke weighed in at 6-foot-1 and 176 pounds. In addition to the blazing forty time, "DVD" recorded a 33.5-inch vertical, 10-foot, 1-inch broad jump, and 4.09 20-yard shuttle time.
It's tough to project exactly what round Van Dyke will be drafted; his fast time could induce a team to take an earlier-than-expected flier on him (hello Al Davis). Nonetheless, while reports have been coming out about Pro Days, this is the first confirmation I have seen that cites the Browns as a team meeting with a player.
