Cleveland Browns Draft Bust #3: Rahim Abdullah

New, comments

As I constructed this list, I wondered to myself how many people would even remember Rahim Abdullah, a linebacker selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 1999 draft. He was taken with the 45th overall pick in the second round, making him the first defensive draft pick of the expansion era Browns. You would hope that a player taken that high would end up maturing into a solid player, but that was not the case.

Abdullah was a starter in his first season, posting mediocre stats. He only started a couple of games in 2000 though, and then he never returned to the NFL. He played in the CFL for a couple of seasons. I keep trying to think back myself to remember Abdullah, but I really don't recall seeing him play. I might have played with him in a videogame back in the day; if he is the guy I am thinking of, then he was better in the game than he was on the field.

Two more players on the "bust" list remain. Who could they be?
