In an interview with the Akron Beacon Journal, Cleveland Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson said that he has been told he will play middle linebacker this year. While that might not be a big surprise, I thought there was still a tiny bit of uncertainty as to where Jackson and Chris Gocong would end up in the starting rotation.
"I gotta know every (linebacker) position," Jackson said. "Right now, they're saying (I'll play) Mike backer. But I also have to learn the Will. I also have to learn the Sam because you never know in this business. I'm a proven example of it — injuries are gonna happen — so you have to have a guy that you can fill in and not miss a beat."
The Browns were also quick to get two more of their rookie draft picks into camp: defensive end Jabaal Sheard agreed to a four-year, $5.09 million deal as the No. 37 overall pick. Wide receiver Greg Little agreed to a four-year contract worth $3.32 million. Man, those seem like some cheap contracts, don't they?
