Is Peyton Hillis About to Cash In?

New, comments

Earlier today, Jason La Canfora of NFL.com stated that the Cleveland Browns are reportedly working on a long-term deal for running back Peyton Hillis.

While the Cleveland Browns and representatives for star running back Peyton Hillis are discussing a long-term contract, no deal is immenent for the Madden NFL 12 cover guy, league sources told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora this week.

It is impossible to say what type of extension Hillis would get, whether it be a lucrative one or just a nice little upgrade. As we all know, running backs seldom last very long in the NFL these days, especially ones that make a living off of initiating contact like Hillis does. Fans on Dawgs By Nature are hesitant to get too excited about this news like they did with offensive tackle Joe Thomas.

I think it's safe to say that we don't mind keeping Hillis for as long as possible, but we don't want to break the bank on a guy who could be less effective before the end of the extension. Vote in the poll below and let us know what you think.
