The Cleveland Browns have significant representation in the NFLPA. Even before coming to Cleveland, LB Scott Fujita played a role on the Executive Committee. Back in March 2012, we reported that the Browns had actually had a second player, TE Benjamin Watson, who was elected to the Executive Committee. Since those two players are fulfilling that role, Cleveland still needs a player representative, as redundant as that might sound.
In 2010, the player representative was Watson. In 2011, it was RT Tony Pashos. Since Pashos is no longer with the team, Cleveland needed a new rep. Fujita announced the news on his Twitter account on Thursday:
Congrats to our newly elected NFLPA player rep @dq52 and alternate reps @coltmccoy & Sheldon Brown.#leadership #solidarity

Veteran LB D'Qwell Jackson followed that up with a tweet of his own:
I want to thank all of my teammates electing me their NFLPA rep. Joining @scottfujita99 & @benjaminswatsonwill be awesome.

Since Watson grew from being a player rep to being on the Executive Committee, maybe Jackson will end up taking that same path somewhere down the road.
