Even with the addition of Brandon Carr, the Cowboys are desperate for help in the secondary. Their pass D was 23rd last year in net yards per attempt and that looks to get worse now that they have to face RG3 twice a year. The Cowboys were outscored 88-46 in the 4th quarter/OT of their 8 losses. That high number of points given up was caused a great deal by the passing D breaking down late in games time and time again. Jenkins has vaulted over Dre' Kirpatrick as the 2nd best CB prospect due to his combine and the fact that he has been clean off the field since recently.

With the addition of Brandon Carr as a legitimate #1 CB and Jenkins right next to him, the pass D for the Cowboys will be able to go from one of the worst to very possibly a top 10 unit. That improvement alone could increase the Cowboys win total by a couple.

After seeing his defense embarrassed last season on numerous occasions, it would seem like a good idea for Rob Ryan to completely revamp a defensive position on the Cowboys. If that happens to be cornerback, then the tandem of Brandon Carr and Janoris Jenkins makes the group a whole lot more respectable in 2012, and may allow Ryan to run some creative packages without having to worry about getting burned so often.
