With the 21st pick in the 2012 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select...

I could have gone the easy way with Dre Kirkpatrick. After all he is a recent jailbird and I am the Bengals, but I decided to go with the guy who I think has the higher ceiling.

I have been very open with my disdain for Saban-coached Defensive backs and their limited ability to get better. Gilmore is a big physical corner that can also be used as a blitzer. He has good hips and has shown the ability to stick with WR's, but doesn't always show the ability to make big plays.

He won't ever be among the league's best Corners, but will fill a need for the Bengals and will be a very solid contributor to the Bengals for a long time.

The Bengals have done a good job with their two picks, as the tandem of a receiver and a cornerback is one that wouldn't be bad to see the Browns have either. Picking between Gilmore and Kirkpatrick is a crapshoot; there is no right or wrong pick, as we'll just have to wait to see which one becomes the better cornerback.
