With the 30th pick in the 2012 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select...

Cordy Glenn, OG, Georgia

This selection and write-up was made by -bobby-:

Glenn represents value here for a 49er team that had difficulties keeping Alex Smith up last season. Sure they already have three 1st round picks on that line, but they lost a starter at RG (Chilo Rachal) and are very weak at Center as well. With Staley (LT), Iupati (LG) and Davis (RT) on the line, Glenn can immediately come and start at RG improving the pass protection for Smith as well as upping the run blocking for Gore. Glenn is the top player on their board right now and he fills a big need for them upfront. Ultimately I think this pick switches if a run on OL goes early and a wide out like Stephen Hill falls down to them. Fleener (TE from Stanford) will also get a good look since Harbaugh likes to use 2 tight ends and has the obvious connections.

These last two picks have been pretty nice steals for the Ravens and 49ers. Glenn is the second best guard in the draft, but seems to be projected to be off the board about ten picks earlier. The 49ers have already done a good job improving their team in the offseason and Harbaugh loves having a versatile set of linemen on both sides of the ball.

The New England Patriots are on the clock next (email will be sent to Boston Browns).
