With the 24th pick in the 2012 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select...

Donta Hightower, LB, Alabama

I believe the Steelers will take Hightower here even though they need O-line help the most. I was tempted to take a Rb but the Steelers are not known for drafting skill players in the 1st round. They also need a NT but with Dontari Poe gone I think they take the 2nd highest rated inside LB.

Although there are some concerns over his speed, Hightower is a very smart LB with experience in the 3-4. With the departure of Farrior he would be a solid option next to Timmons and would be able to make an impact as a rookie. With the history of LB pedigree that the Steelers have I could very well see them picking Donta Hightower.

This pick is a failure; Pittsburgh is supposed to get worse here, not better. In all seriousness, if Hightower is available at this point, this might be the latest lock in the draft.
