Browns Week in Review: June 24 - June 30

Let's take a look at what happened during the past week related to the Cleveland Browns (or important NFL news). Despite it being the dead part of the offseason, there were a couple of stories to reflect on. After the jump is a recap from the week of June 24 - June 30.

  • Sunday, June 24th: In The Sunday Five, I reflected on the Browns' training camp schedule compared to a year ago, as well as a few of the rumored wide receiver trades from the previous week. ... Quarterback Matt Flynn, who was rumored to be a player Cleveland was interested in during free agency, will not kick off Seahawks training camp as the No. 1 QB after not 'wowing' anyone to date.
  • Monday, June 25th: Cornerback Joe Haden got some national props when NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal picked him as a Pro Bowl candidate in 2012. ... Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio sparked some comments on DBN when he suggested that the Browns should move quickly to dump Colt McCoy in order to avoid some quarterback controversy with Brandon Weeden down the road.
  • Tuesday, June 26th: The NFC rookies wrapped up their Rookie Symposium in Berea, meaning Robert Griffin III was there, drawing the attention of former Baylor teammate Phil Taylor. ... Meanwhile, the Browns rookies were busy at Cedar Point a day before their Rookie Symposium commenced.
  • Wednesday, June 27th: While in Berea, Robert Griffin III told the media that Cleveland was the place he thought he was going to be [before the Redskins swooped in]. ... Former Browns QB Brady Quinn had his college dissed by Tim Tebow, but as one user remarked, "Heck, even an article about the grounds keepers for the stadium would be more interesting than this."
  • Thursday, June 28th: The Browns vs. Raiders game later in the season will be pushed back from 4:15 PM to 4:25 PM as part of a new doubleheader rule for CBS and FOX. ... A few days after being praised by NFL.com, an ESPN article touted Joe Haden as being overrated, to which Browns fans took as somewhat of a compliment for a member of the team to even be recognized.
  • Friday, June 29th: C Alex Mack fell on CBS Sports' list of 'best bargains' when it comes to contracts, as he will make about $2 million in 2012. ... Brandon Weeden and Trent Richardson provided updates on their rookie contracts at the AFC Rookie Symposium. ... We looked at the possibility of the NFL Rookie Symposium returning to Berea from here on out.
  • Saturday, June 30th: We asked if there were any potential comeback players for the Browns in 2012 after what D'Qwell Jackson did in 2011.
