According to Cleveland Browns' public relations department, the result of the trade that sent David Sims to the Philadelphia Eagles in the preseason for a conditional draft pick has been determined:
This year the #Browns swap their 7th round pick for Philadelphia’s 6th round pick as part of the David Sims trade from earlier this season
— Dan Murphy (@DMurph_BrownsPR) January 24, 2013
In essence, this means that the Browns ended up trading Sims and their 7th round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft to the Eagles in exchange for the Eagles' 6th round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Cleveland had the 6th pick in the 7th round, and Philadelphia had the 5th pick in the 6th round. This means that the Browns have no 7th round picks this year, but will [almost] be making back-to-back picks near the beginning of the 6th round, with the Raiders wedged in between.
As of this news, the Browns have the following picks in 2013:
- 1st Round, Pick 6
- 3rd Round, Pick 6
- 4th Round, Pick 7
- 5th Round, Pick 6
- 6th Round, Pick 5 - acquired from Eagles for Sims
- 6th Round, Pick 7
Sims played in 15 games for the Eagles this year, making one start. He finished with 15 combined tackles and 1 pass defended.
