Browns vs. Steelers: Analyzing the Snap Counts (Offense)

Looking at the offensive snap counts in the Browns' 20-7 loss to the Steelers.

Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns' offense went 0-of-3 on fourth-down conversions, which limited some of the potential drives they could have had against the Pittsburgh Steelers in their final game of the regular season. These snap count percentages might seem less important after the firing of Rob Chudzinski, but I hope you enjoy them one last time, nonetheless. Check out the snap distributions below for the offense, and let us know what your reactions are in the comments section.

Thoughts: The offensive line yielded three sacks and allowed Campbell to get hit three times. OG Jason Pinkston and OG Shawn Lauvao were both out with injuries. OG Garrett Gilkey saw his first career start and played the whole game, while the reps were split at right guard between OG John Greco and OG Oniel Cousins.

Edwin Baker: 18 carries, 69 yards, 3.8 YPC. 2 catches, -1 yards (2 targets).
Chris Ogbonnaya:
1 catch, 9 yards (2 targets).
Fozzy Whittaker: 2 catches, 38 yards, 1 touchdown (5 targets).

Thoughts: The flow of the offense didn't allow for a proper commitment to Edwin Baker again, but he still showed a nice burst. With a coaching change, though, will he be lost in the mix next year? The current front office still seems to love Dion Lewis. Fozzy Whittaker had a late touchdown, but also dropped a pass that led to an interception. Willis McGahee did not play, despite being active.

Josh Gordon: 7 catches, 82 yards (10 targets).
Greg Little: 1 catch, 9 yards (4 targets).
Josh Cooper: 5 catches, 34 yards (8 targets).
Brian Tyms: 0 catches (1 target).

Thoughts: After the game, it was reported that Josh Gordon had the flu. He did look a bit tired or something in his demeanor, but I thought his effort was still fine. He burned a Steelers cornerback on a slant and go, but the cornerback wisely held him to prevent a touchdown. Greg Little had one measly catch. Josh Cooper looked good again, and hopefully the new coach favors him over Davone Bess. Brian Tyms didn't catch the one pass thrown his way.

Jordan Cameron: 5 catches, 69 yards (7 targets).
Gary Barnidge: 0 catches (1 target).
MarQueis Gray: 0 catches (1 target). 1 carry, 4 yards.
Keavon Milton: No stats registered.

Thoughts: In his return game, Jordan Cameron still saw the most reps among the tight ends, but not as many as he usually does. He had some nice catches. Once again, MarQueis Gray had a pass go sailing over his head despite being open. Gary Barnidge has to wonder what his future holds, since he was a Rob Chudzinski guy from Carolina.

Quarterback
Jason Campbell

Jason Campbell: 23-of-41 for 240 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception, 1 fumble. 1 carry, 6 yards.

Thoughts: I am done with Jason Campbell, plain and simple. The more I saw him play, the more I remembered why I never wanted him, even as a backup, in the first place.
