The first signing of the offseason for Joe Banner and Mike Lombardi appears to be a relatively minor one.
The team announced on Wednesday evening that they have signed offensive lineman Dominic Alford to the roster. A little more detail was offered on the Browns' official website:
The Cleveland Browns today signed offensive lineman Dominic Alford. Originally signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent on July 30, 2011, he spent the entire 2011 season on the team’s practice squad. He was waived by Cleveland on August 31, 2012 and spent the final four weeks of the 2012 season on the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad.
Although it wasn't officially announced by the team until Wednesday, Alford knew last week and revealed the news on Twitter. He seemed excited to be back in Cleveland.
There is no place like home!!! Headed back to The Cleveland Browns!
