Browns Sign Free Agent CB, Chris Owens

Jonathan Daniel

Well DBN fans, the excitement wasn't quite done for the day with the Kellen Davis signing. According to Mary Kay Cabot, among others, the Browns have signed Atlanta's CB, Chris Owens:

# Browns new CB Chris Owen's deal is worth $1 million, plus incentives. Played nickel, dime for # Falcons, hopes to battle for starting job.

Chris Owens, per ProFootballFocus:

PFF: The Pro Football Focus "Tackling Efficiency" number shows the number of attempted tackles per miss.

PFF: Taking into account the number of snaps a defender spends in coverage is key to understanding their impact.

PFF: A player's impact in the running game is sometimes erroneously based on the total volume of tackles made. However, firstly, does that number include tackles on passing plays and, more importantly, did those tackles really count? Stops constitute a "loss" for the offense so this table shows the percentage of stops per snap played only in run defense.

This is exactly what I felt when reading the news of this signing. We still need our second lock down corner opposite Haden. This is a depth move only but a move none the less.

Check out a quick video thanks to my boy Cooper7 that shows his straight line speed:

Lastly, I've edited the article to include a great look at some of his college workout film:
