The 2013 NFL Draft officially begins for the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the teams in the NFL at 8:00 PM EST. This is a continuation of the LIVE BLOG we've been running all day up until this point. Now that we are less than an hour away from things kicking off, it is fitting to start fresh with our live blog. You should also use the comments section as your NFL Draft open thread! (Newest updates will be at the top of the live blog below)
Browns NFL Draft Live Blog
9:40 PM: Our open thread is done for the night, but we'll have more Mingo coverage. I have opened a new open thread, because this one has reached 1,000+ comments:
NEW OPEN THREAD FOR REST OF 1ST ROUND
9:24 PM: Mingo is speaking with the media:
#Browns Barkevious Mingo re-iterated that he had a great visit to Cle and got a great vibe from #Browns when he was here. Met w/ Horton, etc

9:12 PM: Whew. So I wasn't updating the live blog because I was busy doing a write-up on the Browns' pick at No. 6 overall, OLB Barkevious Mingo. Go here and let us know what you think of the pick. Since then, we've seen the Cardinals get OG Jonathan Cooper at No. 7, and the Rams trade up to No. 8 overall to get WR Tavon Austin. It might not be busy for the Browns until tomorrow, because they don't have another pick until round three. It might feel disappointing, but remember that we got WR Josh Gordon with that pick. He'd be a first-round talent this year.
8:52 PM: And there goes Ezekiel Ansah to the Lions at No. 5. The Browns are on. the. clock.
8:45 PM: The Eagles take offensive tackle Lane Johnson at No. 4 overall -- I'm surprised that it's not a surprise with the way things have been going. The Browns are just two picks away -- top candidates could be OLB Ezekiel Ansah, OLB Barkevious Mingo, and CB Dee Milliner. I think I'd love to get a trade down from someone.
8:40 PM: Dammit, now I have to scrap the pre-written post I had ready to submit for Jordan. It's not worth pre-writing for someone else, because I have no clue who it will be.
8:36 PM: The Jaguars taking Joeckel threw off a trade between Cleveland-to-Miami. The Dolphins needed a left tackle, and with Philadelphia at No. 4, they couldn't wait. They have traded up to the Oakland Raiders to select Lane Johnson. HOLY @%#*! The Dolphins just drafted OLB Dion Jordan. Wow -- our No. 1 player is off the board. All bets are off for what happens at No. 6 overall now.
8:25 PM: WOW, I really did not expect Luke Joeckel to be taken by the Jaguars at No. 2 overall. Jordan is still available, but this might hurt a trade scenario with Miami. They would need Lane Johnson to be available, and Philadelphia will likely take him.
8:20 PM: With the Jaguars on the clock, fans hope they don't take OLB Dion Jordan; would like to see him fall to Cleveland.
8:18 PM: The first pick is in, and it is OT Eric Fisher heading to the Chiefs. The Jaguars are now on the clock! We won't be updating for every pick, but a summary after "X" number of picks. Go to the comments to discuss each individual pick.
8:04 PM: More trade gossip involving the Browns:
What I was reporting earlier... Austin stakes getting crazy. RT @rapsheet: @movethesticks says Rams looking into trading up to 6 for Austin.

8:02 PM: The 2013 NFL Draft is officially underway!
7:53 PM: More from Schefter on Hayden:
Every first round has a surprise or two. Tonight's just might be CB D.J. Hayden, who continues to be linked to Oakland Raiders.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 25, 2013
7:50 PM: We are ten minutes away from this thing getting underway and DBN blowing up!
7:46 PM: The Browns are all set in Berea's Draft Room:
7:36 PM: Wishful thinking on Mingo's part?
#Browns Barkevious Mingo is at Radio City Music Hall for NFL draft and wearing Browns colors.
— Jeff Schudel (@jsbrownsinsider) April 25, 2013
7:18 PM: Earlier today, Matt Wood heard from a source that the Browns might be considering CB D.J. Hayden at No. 6 overall. Now, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports is reporting that Hayden will be the first cornerback selected in round one. Is that for Cleveland, or another team?
Jay Glazer, who broke Eric Fisher-going-1st, just said on Fox Sports radio that DJ Hayden of Houston will be the first CB off the board

7:05 PM: What's with the lack of confidence, Jimmy?
Haslam talking to sponsors at draft party. He told them the #Browns are a couple years away from contending.

7:00 PM: You can quickly catch up on all of today's live blog from before 7 PM right here. The Cleveland Browns have the No. 6 overall pick as things stand right now. Teams have ten minutes to make their first-round selections.
If the Browns stay put, the latest they would begin to be on the clock would be from 8:50 PM - 9:00 PM. However, if teams pick quicker, and someone probably will, it could end up being more like 8:35 PM that we're on the clock. Don't chance it -- make sure you're watching TV, listening to a radio, or following DBN for all of the latest!
