It is Friday, and later tonight, rounds 2-3 in the 2013 NFL Draft will take place for the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the teams in the NFL. Because there are two rounds, it starts a little earlier today -- 6:30 PM EST.
We will have all of the Browns-related coverage on the draft here at Dawgs By Nature throughout the weekend. We will have individual posts about each draft pick that Cleveland makes, or any other relevant news. This thread will act as a "live blog" of sorts, with short one-liners about the latest small rumors, picks, or trades involving Cleveland or other NFL teams. You should also use the comments section as your NFL Draft open thread! (Newest updates will be at the top of the live blog below)
Browns NFL Draft Live Blog
3:45 PM: It sounds like the Davone Bess rumors are still hot, but time is of the essence. I hope time runs out; not interested.
Browns & Dolphins haggling over mid-round picks for Davone Bess. Deadline? 7 pm. Bess needs to be at airport for last flight for physical

3:24 PM: A little tease regarding the "Draft Day" movie that portrays the Browns:
This is director Ivan Reitman in action. It's for the draft movie about the #Browns filmed here nowtwitpic.com/cm4ci4

3:16 PM: In the weeks leading up to the draft, 22 of 30 players were confirmed to have visited the Browns' headquarters by the media. One of those players was Mingo. Out of the 22 players, 9 still remain. Keep an eye on these names, because Cleveland might have more of an invested interest in them [full tracking list here]:
QB Matt Barkley
QB Matt Scott
WR Kenny Stills
TE Gavin Escobar
ILB Jonathan Bostic
CB Tyrann Mathieu
SS Jonathan Cyprien
FS D.J. Swearinger
FS Josh Evans
2:00 PM: The Cleveland Browns press conference introducing Barkevious Mingo is live now! You can check out the video at the team's official website.
1:08 PM: Remember those Browns big boards our staff did a few days ago? I went through and made a table listing the players still available from our original lists. Disclaimer: in reality, I'm sure staff members would change their list, given the fact that we already picked an outside linebacker. Nonetheless, it is still worth looking at:
12:36 PM: Just a reminder that OLB Barkevious Mingo will have his "welcome" press conference in Berea today with head coach Rob Chudzinski. There is also a cool-looking Mingo graphic:
Today at 2p, @keke_mingo will be introduced to the Cleveland media. WATCH live on ClevelandBrowns.com. #NFLDraft twitter.com/Browns/status/…

11:58 AM: DBN's Zach Miller recapped and graded the first round of the NFL Draft. Be sure to head on over and weigh in with your thoughts. It seems like the Cowboys' pick was universally panned.
11:50 AM: Some fans have wondered if the Browns would try to trade up to get into the second round. The issue with that is they have very little ammunition in terms of draft picks to do so, unless they dig into 2014. What about trading someone like Jabaal Sheard? Earlier today, Keith Britton from 92.3 The Fan reported the latest from what he's been hearing:
#Browns not currently in any talks to move into 2nd round. Also, I've been told team is NOT trading Jabaal Sheard so throw that rumor away
— Keith Britton (@KeithBritton86) April 26, 2013
From what I gather, don't expect #Browns to trade any member of defensive front 7. They've put a lot of attention into building that depth

11:42 AM: Let's start off with a basic primer again for tonight. The second round of the draft begins FRIDAY, APRIL 26 at 6:30 PM EST. The third round will also commence after the conclusion of the second round. Cleveland does not have a second-round pick; they used that on WR Josh Gordon in the supplemental draft last season. The Browns do have a third-round pick -- No. 68 overall -- after taking OLB Barkevious Mingo with No. 6 overall on Thursday.
