Fan Kickoff Concert Announced for July 14th; Joe Banner Promises More Events in the Future

Cleveland Browns CEO Joe Banner and team president Alec Scheiner met with the media today to announce a "Fan Kickoff Concert" that will be taking place at FirstEnergy Stadium on July 14th. The event will start with Fan Fest at 4:00 PM, and will be followed by musical performances by Michael Stanley and the Resonators, and Jon Bon Jovi.

Note: you catch watch the press conference of the announcement here; it is 15 minutes in length.

Banner said that "over time, you'll see the stadium more active than it was in the past," citing this event, as well as the friendly soccer match between USA and Belgium on Wednesday. Speaking of soccer matches, if things go well, this might not be the last we see of the USA Men's team in Cleveland:

Scheiner also expressed that these are only a few examples of what's to come to help broaden the fan experience and usage of the stadium. "This will be part of a broader fan experience initiative that we're going to put forward this year," stated Scheiner.

According to WKYC, Banner also spoke about when changes to the stadium itself will come:

Banner says there will be no physical changes to the stadium this year, short of ingress and egress flow changes, but expect major investments in years to come.

"We're just finalizing hiring an architect, we're just starting to get our own thinking solidified, we'll work together with the city as we go forward on all of this," said Banner. "It's really in that preliminary of a phase."
