Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle and former Ohio State University player Mike Adams was stabbed Saturday morning in Pittsburgh after trying to stop a robbery attempt. Adams' agent, Eric Metz, relayed the details of the incident to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports:
Metz, who spoke with Steelers security officials as well as GM Kevin Colbert -- who was at the hospital with the wounded player -- said he was told the assailants were attempting to steal Adams' truck, and there is a strong expectation they could be found. Metz said three men were trying to steal the truck from in front of Adams' residence and when he intervened, he was stabbed.

Our friends enemies over at Behind the Steel Curtain have a StoryStream covering all of the news related to the incident. It's good to know that Adams is going to be okay -- as his agent said, Adams was fortunate that the injuries were not much, much worse. Adams is expected to take six weeks to recover from the wounds, which still puts him on schedule to return for training camp. Former Browns linebacker David McMillan was shot and killed in a robbery attempt a couple of weeks ago.
