A couple of weeks ago, the Cleveland Browns held a press conference at FirstEnergy Stadium to announce a Fan Kickoff Concert that would be taking place on July 14th. There was a lot of excitement in the air at the time, with Michael Stanley and the Resonators, a Browns pep rally, and a Bon Jovi concert all scheduled to take place on the same night. Unfortunately for people who were hoping to go or who had already bought tickets, the event has now been cancelled entirely:
The July 14th Cleveland Browns "Fan Kickoff Concert" at FirstEnergy Stadium, featuring Bon Jovi and opening act Michael Stanley, has been cancelled. For refund information, ticket holders should return to their original point of purchase.
The Browns did not provide a reason for the cancellation, although the Associated Press noted that it may have been due to low ticket sales:
Suspect poor ticket sales played into #Browns decision to scrap concert. Bon Jovi played here earlier this year at Q.

It's unfortunate that the event could not carry on, as it really would be nice to see the stadium get some more year-round usage.
