Four down, one to go.
After seventh-round defensive end Armonty Bryant signed his contract with the Cleveland Browns Friday afternoon, third-round cornerback Leon McFadden inked his deal later in the day. Based on where he was drafted, McFadden's deal should be worth around $3 million.
The lone remaining player unsigned is first-round pick Barkevious Mingo, who is set to receive a $16.3 million deal based on where he was drafted. At this point, players are just trying to negotiate the offset language in their contract. It's a formality that could keep Mingo out for a couple of days of rookie training camp (which began on Friday), but likely won't extend to regular training camp next Thursday.
As for McFadden, it is important that he got into rookie training camp right away, since he is a contender for the starting cornerback role opposite of Joe Haden. McFadden will compete with Buster Skrine and Chris Owens in a three-way battle.
