Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report: Day 12 - Light Practice Indoors

New, comments
Ron Schwane-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns had a very simple walkthrough practice Wednesday morning, so there is not much to today's practice report. Nonetheless, let's recap what we learned on Day 12 of training camp for the Browns.

CLEVELAND BROWNS TRAINING CAMP REPORT - DAY 12 (8/7/13)

  1. Practice Moved Inside: Practice was already scheduled to be closed to the public, so it was fitting that it rained in Cleveland, forcing practice to be moved indoors.

  2. First-Team Secondary: Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reported that the first-team secondary consisted of CB Joe Haden, SS Johnson Bademosi, FS Tashaun Gipson, and CB Chris Owens. That will likely be the unit we see to start Thursday's game. S T.J. Ward will be rested, and CB Leon McFadden was idle Wednesday with a groin injury.

  3. Who is Out Against Rams? The following players are out against the Rams, according to head coach Rob Chudzinski: RB Trent Richardson, RB Montario Hardesty, FB Brad Smelley, FB Brock Bolen, WR David Nelson, OG Shawn Lauvao, OT Oniel Cousins, OT Ryan Miller, OT Chris Faulk, DE Dave Kruger, S T.J. Ward, and CB Leon McFadden.

  4. Rookie Hazing: I am not a fan of rookie hazing, but some of the veteran Browns players, including NT Phil Taylor, became barbers and shaved patches of hair off of the likes of OLB Barkevious Mingo, K Brandon Bogotay, OT Martin Wallace, and DE Armonty Bryant.

  5. Marecic Trolling: You can make your own assumption about the outcome of the play. Chudzinski confirmed that FB Owen Marecic would be paired with RB Brandon Jackson on the second-team offense against St. Louis.
  6. Brownies: One Brownie today: Tony Grossi said that Cleveland will be in brown jerseys on Thursday. We will have a "what we're looking for" preview post on Thursday prior to the Rams game, and then be sure to check in for our game thread as the action unfolds live.
