Here is a wrap-up of the injury situation for the Cleveland Browns heading into this week's game against the Minnesota Vikings:
- Obviously, the big news that everyone is aware of is that QB Brian Hoyer will start in place of Brandon Weeden, who is dealing with a sprained thumb. Weeden appears as though he'll be ready to play in Week 4 against the Bengals, but now the question is whether he'll retain his starting role or not. I think he will.
- OLB Quentin Groves will be out 4-6 weeks with the ankle injury he suffered last week, so expect to see more of rookie OLB Barkevious Mingo this week.
- Unfortunately, we'll likely have to wait one more week for the debut of RG Shawn Lauvao, who was limited in practice and is listed as doubtful. DE Ahtyba Rubin expressed concern about playing before his calf injury was fully healed, but he's listed as questionable this week (he was doubtful last week). There's a chance we may see Rubin on Sunday.
- The Vikings enter this game relatively healthy -- no significant injuries are present for them.
