Tank job? I don't think so. Here's what the Cleveland Browns had in store for the Minnesota Vikings in their first game after trading Trent Richardson, en route to a 31-27 victory:
- Three touchdown passes from QB Brian Hoyer, including a game-winner on third down with under a minute to go.
- The return of WR Josh Gordon, who caught 10 passes for 146 yards and 1 touchdown.
- All-purpose player Spencer Lanning, who punted, kicked off, kicked an extra point, and...threw a touchdown.
- Ending the game with S Josh Aubrey being their leading rusher -- 34 yards on a fake punt.
- Another career day for TE Jordan Cameron, who caught 6 passes for 66 yards and 3 touchdowns.
- Six sacks by the defense, including the game-sealing one by Desmond Bryant.
Incredible. Words can't describe the joy I feel -- I was one of the biggest defenders about the fact that this team would not roll over and die. I could have been incredibly wrong, but I wasn't. The offense responded with a lot of fight, and the defense overcome some second-half turnovers by the offense.
The only thing that I don't look forward to in this coming week? We've got a quarterback controversy.
Also, thank god for Christian Ponder. Now go and celebrate, Browns fans! Because this is a special win, game thread rules apply (in terms of the profanity filter), except that we will allow pictures and GIFs.
