The Cleveland Browns lost their first assistant coach on offense today when tight ends coach Jon Embree joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Buccaneers announced that they have hired Jon Embree, the former HC at Colorado, as their tight ends coach.

Embree has no apparent previous affiliation with the new coaches on offense in Tampa Bay, but it's another sign that most of our assistant coaches will likely be cleaned out. If you recall, after the Pat Shurmur era, the only assistants who survived were offensive line coach George Warhop and special teams coordinator Chris Tabor. Embree does join former Browns defensive line coach Joe Cullen in Tampa Bay, though -- Cullen was recently named the Buccaneers' defensive line coach.
Embree is actually one of the assistant coaches who can leave Cleveland with an impressive resume, as he can attempt to take credit for some of the development of Jordan Cameron. Yes, Rob Chudzinski and Norv Turner, both of whom specialize in tight ends, likely played a significant role in Cameron's development too, but that credit also gets passed down to an assistant like Embree.
