Browns Send a Sixth Player to the Pro Bowl in T.J. Ward

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Next week, the Cleveland Browns will see a sixth and final player representing their team at the Pro Bowl: SS T.J. Ward. At the end of December, five players on the Browns were named Pro Bowlers: WR Josh Gordon, TE Jordan Cameron, C Alex Mack, LT Joe Thomas, and CB Joe Haden. Ward was named a Pro Bowl alternate despite having the finest season of his career. The announcement came down not too long ago that Ward will now be in the Pro Bowl because S Troy Polamalu cannot participate due to injury:

Believe it or not, it wasn't too long ago that the Browns had six players in the Pro Bowl. That came in 2008, when they sent QB Derek Anderson, WR Braylon Edwards, TE Kellen Winslow, LT Joe Thomas, KR Joshua Cribbs, and LS Ryan Pontbriand. Ward's nomination comes just in time, too, because the first ever Pro Bowl draft will take place this Wednesday. That means we could see the likes of Gordon or Cameron going up against Haden or Ward.
