After Mike Pettine was hired as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, the first name that popped up as a candidate to be the team's next defensive coordinator was Buffalo Bills linebackers coach Jim O'Neil. The question was whether or not the Bills would let O'Neil out of his contract, though. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Cleveland show know the Bills' decision by Monday:
#Bills have til Mon to decide if they’ll allow DC candidate Jim O’Neil to take CLE job. If not, Ravens LB coach Don Martindale is a target

If the Bills end up saying, "no," this is the first time I've heard Baltimore Ravens inside linebackers coach Don Martindale being labeled as a candidate for the job. Martindale is from Trotwood, Ohio, and was the defensive coordinator the Denver Broncos in 2010, before joining the Ravens last year. He also had an interview for the Raiders' head coaching vacancy in 2009.
