NFL Playoffs: San Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers, Wildcard Round (Open Thread)

Mike McGinnis

Is there something sinister about me rooting for a game with temperatures at 0 degrees, feeling like -25 degrees, in the postseason? I know we've heard the weather talked about to death already, but it really does have a big impact on the game. Better equipment and technology should help matters for the players compared to decades ago, but still -- it's a factor.

The weather should also be one of the reasons why you throw the records out of the window here. On top of that, Aaron Rodgers is back for the Packers, and he will no doubt continue to elevate Green Bay's level of play. He already came through on a big fourth-down "regular season playoff game" last week against the Bears. The Packers have worked all season toward building up their running game, and today is the day where Eddie Lacy proves to be a serious candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year. The 49ers are a very good team, me leaning toward Green Bay is really a coin flip type of situation. Packers 20, 49ers 17
