Here is a wrap-up of the injury situation for the Cleveland Browns heading into this week's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars:
- With DE Armonty Bryant done for the year, DE Phil Taylor and DE Billy Winn both out, and DT Ahtyba Rubin listed as questionable, the Browns are going to be thin on the defensive line again. Reports indicate that Rubin will try to play this week, but DT Ishmaa'ily Kitchen would likely split reps with him. The Browns added two defensive linemen to the roster this week -- Siona Fua and Jacobbi McDaniel.
- Despite FS Tashaun Gipson being banged up, he is expected to start on Sunday. It wouldn't be a surprise if he didn't play every snap like he is accustom to doing, so veteran S Jim Leonhard could be paired with SS Donte Whitner at times.
- The other change in the secondary is at the nickel position. CB K'Waun Williams, who played the nickel role the past two games, is out with a concussion. Head coach Mike Pettine already confirmed that CB Buster Skrine will shift to the slot in nickel situations, and he also hinted that CB Justin Gilbert would come into the game to play on the outside in those sets. Pettine did not rule out playing time for UDFA cornerback Robert Nelson, or utilizing three safeties, as alternatives.
- The Jaguars' only injury is RB Toby Gerhart, who is out with a foot injury. RB Storm Johnson is expected to start in his place again.
