Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Cleveland Browns - 2nd Quarter Game Thread

Jump down to the comments section to discuss the Buccaneers vs. Browns game each quarter with a bunch of other Browns fans!

Jason Miller

The Buccaneers received the ball first and picked up several first downs. The Browns' defense held, and then the special teams unit blocked the field goal! Cleveland's offense retaliated with a couple of big pass plays from QB Brian Hoyer, but C Nick McDonald was absolutely owned on a couple of plays. The drive ended with a 49-yard field goal by K Billy Cundiff to give the Browns a 3-0 advantage.

Tampa Bay then moved the ball on their next drive thanks to a big screen play to RB Bobby Rainey. When they went to try a 55-yard field goal, though, K Patrick Murray's attempt was right down the middle but just short. The Browns took over on downs at their own 45 yard line -- great starting field position. The drive ended in a punt, though.

At the end of the first quarter, QB Mike Glennon went deep and CB Joe Haden tipped the pass right into the arms of SS Donte Whitner, who ran it back into field goal territory. That's where we are heading to the second quarter of play.
