QB Brian Hoyer remained at quarteraback for Cleveland coming out of the locker room. The Browns got a big run by RB Isaiah Crowell on their opening drive of the second half, but nothing else and had to punt.
On the Panthers' ensuing drive, DL Billy Winn made a tremendous diving interception and then lateraled the ball to S Jordan Poyer for a touchdown. The officials then said that Winn "gave himself up," so they took the touchdown away. The Browns responded with a couple of first downs, but had to settle for a 31-yard field goal on 4th-and-2 to cut the deficit to 10-6. The Browns fielded a punt to close out the third quarter.
