Browns Looking to Bring in Bill Kuharich to Assist Ray Farmer

New, comment

Kuharich has a ton of front office experience, including one brief stint as a general manager with the Saints.

This news was from a couple of days ago, but we're just finally getting around to it. Following our proper introduction to Ray Farmer as the team's new general manager, it was also reported that the team was looking to bring Bill Kurarich aboard as a consultant or assistant.

While it sounds like the two will be paired up, when Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland interviewed Farmer the next day, he said it wasn't a done deal yet:

Grossi: "What is the status of adding Bill Kuharich Jr., a former GM with Kansas City and New Orleans, to the organization?"

Farmer: "Bill is definitely a guy I have a longstanding relationship with. He’s a friend, a valuable resource. Nothing has been solidified yet. To be determined, I would say, is probably the best answer for that now."

Kuharich has a ton of front office experience, including one brief stint as a general manager with the Saints. He has not worked in the NFL since being released by the Chiefs in 2009, but if he is hired in a consultant type of role, he can help tie up loose ends or advise Farmer if he is missing some of the intricacies of the job.
