A day after Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins solidified his candidacy as a top pick in this year's draft, South Carolina defensive end/outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney did the same. Measuring in at 6'5", 266 lbs, Clowney registered two blazing fast unofficial 40-times of 4.47 and 4.48.
Jadeveon Clowney clocks 4.47 and 4.48, unofficially. The 4.47 was faster than 56 RBs and WRs yesterday. #NFLCombine

With the type of speed and athleticism that Clowney brings to the table, it has to be at least somewhat enticing for the Houston Texans to take him with the first overall pick in the draft. Would you want to be a quarterback going up against Clowney and J.J. Watt? In regards to what position he could play, Clowney said, "It doesn’t matter to me -- hand in the dirt, hand down. The scheme I played in in South Carolina, my hand was always down but I believe I can play standing up also."
The Cleveland Browns bolstered their front seven last offseason, and conventional wisdom would say they need to go offense this year. With a lot of picks after No. 4 overall, though, and a defensive-minded coach in Mike Pettine leading the charge, could Clowney end up going to the Browns as another dynamic rusher for the team?
