The Cleveland Browns announced today that they have hired Paul Ricci to be the team's new strength and conditioning coach. Although not confirmed, you can safely assume that this means that Brad Roll, who served as the team's strength and conditioning coach in 2013, is no longer part of the staff.
Interestingly enough, both of Roll's assistant strength and conditioning coaches, Chris DiSanto and Derik Keyes, have been retained and will serve under Ricci. Ricci has worked with head coach Mike Pettine in the past, which had to play to his advantage in getting hired in Cleveland. Ricci was with the Ravens from 1999-2008, and Pettine was there from 2002-2008. Ricci was with the Jets as an assistant strength and conditioning coach over the past two seasons, meaning he was on the same staff with Pettine again in 2012.
