2014 Browns Free Agency Live Blog - Day 4

1:45 PM: It's definitely been a slow day to say the least. We might have some free agency open threads continuing into the weekend, but given that the rapid-fire-pace of news has ended, this will be the final day of our "free agency live blog." We will, of course, have full articles up for any player who does sign, though. The latest is that the Browns were still meeting with RB Ben Tate. They've been with him for awhile now.

9:55 AM: On Twitter, Brent Sobleski of the USA Today claims that contrary to what fans have speculated, SS T.J. Ward was not "looking" to get out of Cleveland. He said it simply came down to SS Donte Whitner being superior in coverage, and that is what the Browns valued more in a safety.

9:45 AM: We already knew that the 49ers re-signed K Phil Dawson, but here were the terms of the deal, pretty much removing any pipe dream of a chance that he'll ever return to Cleveland:

9:00 AM: The Browns confirmed last night that they met with RB Ben Tate, so all eyes will be on whether he signs a contract today. Could any other free agent signings creep up?
