The Cleveland Browns haven't had much luck with their recent nickel cornerbacks, as they released CB Dimitri Patterson and CB Chris Owens in back-to-back years, about three quarters of the way through the season. The Dolphins were the team that signed Patterson and Owens both times when they were released.
Owens was a free agent this year, though, and he just signed a 1-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. Owens was best known for being used on the corner blitz by former defensive coordinator Ray Horton. Owens racked up three sacks during the season. Unfortunately, he was a bit of a letdown in coverage after what looked to be a strong training camp.
