According to reports, the Cleveland Browns have hired Aaron Glenn as an assistant defensive backs coach. The team already has an assistant defensive backs coach in Bobby Babich, so I would imagine that both Glenn and Babich will be working under secondary coach Jeff Hafley.
Glenn was a first-round pick by the New York Jets in 1994. He played with the Jets from 1994-2001, and then bounced between four other teams through his retirement in 2009. To play in the league as a defensive back for 16 years is pretty incredible.
In 2012, when Mike Pettine was the defensive coordinator of the Jets, Glenn was hired by the team's personnel department. In 2013, Glenn became an area scout for the Jets. This will be his first coaching gig in the NFL, and with the rookie additions of CB Justin Gilbert and CB Pierre Desir, Pettine might have wanted another assistant to help get these guys ready for the NFL.
